Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation is essential in the continued treatment of heart and lung disease after an event. Individually prescribed exercises, counseling on diets and stress combined with education classes can help you regain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Almost anyone with heart or lung disease can benefit from some type of exercise and education program. No one is too old or too young and both men and women benefit from cardiac rehabilitation.

You can benefit from a cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation program if you have had any of the following:

  • Heart Attack
  • Angioplasty
  • Stable Angina Pectoris
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
  • Emphysema
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Phase II/Telemetry Program for Cardiac Rehabilitation - The Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is designed for individuals who have recently had coronary artery bypass surgery, angina pectoris, angioplasty or a stent. Meetings are three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and our convenient schedules allow you a choice of times throughout the day. Lasting approximately three months or thirty-six sessions, cardiac rehabilitation is designed to help you through your recovery process. Education classes and relaxation sessions are held weekly. Individualized exercise prescriptions, one-on-one nutritional counseling and meetings for stress management are also offered.

Phase II/Telemetry Program for Pulmonary Rehabilitation - For persons with pulmonary disease, a pulmonary rehabilitation program offers a monitored program three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). This program is designed especially for persons who have lung disease and who have oxygen needs. It is also an individually monitored program with counseling and support.

You may contact the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department at 919-938-7581 or reach us by fax 919-989-6420.
