Johnston Therapeutic Wound Center

If you have a wound that has not healed, consider seeking help from Johnston Therapeutic Wound Center. The methods employed by the center have established an impressive record of healing wounds that others thought hopeless, including many that may have required amputation.

Our staff is a unique team of trained physicians, nurses and therapists whose combined knowledge creates a multidisciplinary approach to wound management. We are dedicated to caring for people with wounds that have resisted traditional means of healing.

Your Treatment Program

Wounds, due to their complex nature, require an individualized course of treatment to promote healing. We offer the expertise and technology to support the needs of our patients. Generally treatments are covered by Medicare/Medicaid and most health plans.

Your treatment plan will be overseen by one of our staff physicians and a nurse case manager will be your primary contact at the Wound Healing Center. Some of the following treatments may be included in your treatment plan:

Wound Dressings. Specific wound care products will be chosen for your wound depending on your needs. Proper dressing can go a long way to promote healing.

Wound Debridement.
This minor surgical procedure enhances the growth of healthy tissues in the wound, creating an environment that leads to healing. Your physician will also use the latest monitoring techniques to measure your progress.

Transcutaneous Oxy/gen Monitoring. This test records the level of oxygen available to your wound. The more oxygen your wound gets, the quicker healing can be complete.

Doppler Evaluation of Pulses. This technique measures the blood flow available to bring nutrients and medications to the wound. The better the blood flow is, the quicker healing will occur.

Nationally renowned expertise

The Johnston Therapeutic Wound Center has been developed as a partnership between Johnston Memorial Hospital and National Healing Corporation. Across the country, National Healing Corporation has raised the bar in chronic wound care, achieving a healing rate that consistently exceeds 80%.

Carefully researched methods allow patients to receive state-of-the-art treatment of wounds that have resisted healing despite months, or even years of conventional treatment.
